Risk disclaimer

The short version: this is analysis, not advice. Gold is leveraged, gaps happen, and the loss on any trade can be larger than the stop suggests.

Not financial advice

Everything on Pipocket is market commentary and technical analysis published for educational and informational purposes. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. It is not a recommendation, solicitation or offer to buy or sell any instrument, and it is not personal to your circumstances — no author here knows your capital, your obligations, your tax position or your risk tolerance.

No advisory, fiduciary or client relationship is created by reading this site or by corresponding with it. If you need advice for your situation, consult a licensed professional in your jurisdiction.

Gold is a leveraged instrument

  • Leverage cuts both ways. A move of a fraction of a percent against a leveraged position can erase a substantial part of your account.
  • Stops are instructions, not guarantees. Slippage, gaps and thin liquidity can fill you well beyond your stop price — or not fill at all.
  • News is where spreads widen. Around CPI, payrolls, central-bank decisions and geopolitical headlines, spreads on XAUUSD can multiply and execution can degrade exactly when the analysis matters most.
  • Weekend and holiday gaps. Gold can reopen far from Friday's close, skipping over any stop level you set.
  • Margin calls. If your broker liquidates, the outcome is decided by your position size and margin, not by this site's view.
  • Never risk money you cannot afford to lose. Trading costs — spread, commission, swap and financing — are charged whether or not the idea works.

Signals and performance

Signals published here state a bias, an entry area, a stop, one or more targets and an invalidation level. They are one analyst's reading of structure at a moment in time, and they will be wrong regularly — that is the nature of trading at all. A good risk-reward ratio loses money on most attempts by construction.

  • Past performance does not predict future results. A published record describes what happened in conditions that will not repeat exactly.
  • Hypothetical and backtested results are not live results. They assume fills at prices that may never have been available, and assume discipline no human or algorithm applies perfectly.
  • No individual results are implied. Your outcome depends on your execution, sizing, broker, latency and decisions — none of which this site controls.
  • You own your trades. Any order you place is your decision and your responsibility, taken after your own analysis and risk assessment.

Expert-Advisor and algorithmic content

Articles on the EA trading board discuss strategy design, optimisation, backtesting and MetaTrader 5 implementation. Code, parameters and .set settings shown there are illustrative examples, published to explain a technique. They are not tested against your broker, your spread, your commission schedule or your hardware, and they are not a finished product.

  • Always test on a demo account with your broker's real spread and commission before risking money.
  • Optimised parameters frequently do not survive forward testing — overfitting is the default failure mode, not the exception.
  • No warranty of profitability, uptime, accuracy or fitness for any purpose is given or implied.
  • Automated trading can fail: connectivity, broker-side changes, requotes, platform updates, and code defects that only appear in live conditions.
